Florida, North Dakota, & Oklahoma

I had a hour to kill before meeting Joel and decided to go to the mall. I picked up the book I had ordered online - a daily meditations-type book of the writings of Madeline L'Engle - and then got sucked into a really good sale. When I say sucked in, I mean stuck in the dressing room with the attendant "checking" on me and asking to see how it fit. After the awkwardness was over, I ended up with a different size and more self-esteem. By the time I made it out of the fitting room and endless line at the checkout counter, I had spent my birthday money and was going to be late. Joel was taking me to the Idaho Shakespeare Festival's performance of The Mystery of Edwin Drood. My friend Stitch played a role! We packed a picnic dinner and ate on the lawn. The show was entertaining, the company great, and the evening chilly.

I spotted these license plates in the mall parking lot - one on my way in, and two during my frantic search for my car, which I conveniently could not find for the life of me. I thought only middle-aged women lose their cars!

Florida - What a cool plate! I love the design.

North Dakota - I've seen several of these around while driving, but finally caught one on foot. It's an ironic find for that day because there were several un-connected mentions of the state in conversation.

Oklahoma - One of my frantic finds on the way to my car. I get strange looks when I'm bending over in parking lots staring at license plates.

Utah

Today is my birthday. Today I am old. 25 years ago I graced this earth.
The girls and I went downtown for birthday dinner. The food was fantastic, and the company was entertaining. <3 my friends. I ordered a pasta dish that I cannot pronounce the name of. We've landed back at our favorite coffee shop (home away from home) and the girls are engaging in mommy-talk. I'm content to sit and listen, post my pictures, and blog away. There's something comforting about having your best friends' voices as background music to your blog. Can you hear them?
This Utah license plate was spotted a few cars away in the parking garage downtown. Utah's not very far from Idaho, but still a good find. This one was clean and shiny, reflecting every minimal ray of light poking around dark garage corners.
